Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

Imbarco is developed by Filiberto Secchi. This policy describes how the app handles your data.

Data We Collect

Imbarco does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device.

Location Data

The app requests location permission solely to show nearby stops. Your location is processed on-device only and is never sent to any server. Location access is optional — the app works fully without it.

Network Requests

The app makes a single network request on launch to check for timetable data updates from data.imbarco.app. This request contains no personal information — only a version number comparison. If an update is available, the app downloads a transit database file. No personal data is transmitted.

Data Storage

All app data (favorites, settings, timetables) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS/Android storage. Nothing is synced to external servers.

Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash data and diagnostic information to improve app stability. No personal data is collected — only technical details such as device type, OS version, and stack traces. This data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

Imbarco uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting (see above). No analytics services, ad networks, or other third-party SDKs are used.

Beta Tester Signup (Website)

If you sign up to be an Android beta tester via imbarco.app/tester, we collect:

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): Your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent box on the signup form.

Purpose: Solely to invite you to the closed Android beta on Google Play and to send beta-related updates (e.g. new build available, beta closing).

Recipients: The form submission is processed by Formspree (our form-handling provider), which forwards it to our private inbox. We do not share your address with anyone else.

Retention: Your email is kept for the duration of the beta program and deleted within 30 days of the beta closing or upon request — whichever is sooner.

Your rights: You can withdraw consent, request access to your data, or request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Transit Data

Schedule data is sourced from ACTV S.p.A. open data (CC-BY license) and Alilaguna published timetables.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy
